Will the Iphone 12 price make the Iphone SE irrelevant?
Apple are expected to launch their flagship phone in the coming months and this time apple are planning to go big with the iphone 12 and a leak now claims that it could be doing so by not driving prices too high.It seem apple is trying to change their approach to the market by launching phones at a cheaper price.
According to a report from @omegaleaks which claims that Apple will launch an iPhone that will be priced below the $600 mark which is around 45,376 rupees making it one of the most affordable flagship iPhones in years. This phone is said to be a 4G-variant of the entry-level 5.4-inch iPhone 12, and will retail for $549 which is 41 519 Indian rupees ,This would be a full $150 less than last year’s iPhone 11. Even Jon Prosser had speculated a $649 price point for the entry-level 5.4-inch iPhone 12. These reports also fall in line with previous predictions from industry experts. Case in point, an analyst note from Daniel Ives of Wedbush Securities which has predicted that there could be a cheaper version of the iPhone 12 with a 5.4-inch display for 2020.
If the iPhone 12 starts at just $549, a $399 iPhone SE which was launched earlier this year will suddenly becomes a much tougher sell.
The iPhone 12 is rumoured to offer a larger display than the iPhone SE (5.4 inches vs 4.7 inches), a faster A14 Bionic chip and dual rear cameras instead of just one for the SE. The iPhone 12 should also offer Face ID, which some prefer to Touch ID, as well as slimmer bezels. In fact, leaks point to the iPhone 12 being even smaller than the iPhone SE despite have a larger display. The iPhone 12 is expected to get 120Hz ProMotion display, however, this feature is being tipped to be exclusive to the 6.1 and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro phones. Reports claim that the ProMotion screens will feature dynamic refresh rate switching allowing them to switch between 60Hz and 120Hz depending on the task at hand.
Apart from this, previous reports have claimed the iPhone 12 could come in four models spread across three different sizes. As per the new report, there will be a 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max, while the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch phones will be the 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Whenever Apple holds its launch event — a sleeker, faster, longer-lasting and sharper shooting iPhone 12 should more than justify its premium. If the rumors prove accurate.
